Job Description
This position will be responsible for performing sequencing reactions, sequence alignments, make diagnostic designs, and perform other DNA verification analysis as needed.

Duties: |
Prepare materials for DNA sequencing.
Perform high throughput DNA sequencing using an Applied Biosystems Sequencer system or equivalent.
Set up sequencing reactions.
Maintain sequencing logs.
Maintain sequencing data and coordinate with IT department to safeguard data backup.
Maintain sequencing lab, keep equipment maintenance records.
Order sequencing consumables and record batch information.
Troubleshoot sequencing problems.
Update sequencing SOPs.
Perform DNA sequence alignments.
Analyze sequence alignment results and troubleshoot as necessary.
Construct DNA vector diagnostic designs.
Prepare DNA vector reports.
Prepare quality assurance reports.
Responsible for maintaining electronic and hard copy library of sequence results.
Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: |
Job Requirements
Education: B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related discipline with computer experience
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a molecular biology or genetics lab; Minimum 1 year of experience with DNA vector design; Proficient with DNA vector design software (preferably Vector NTI).
