Rackspace is looking for creative problem solvers to assure the quality of our existing software offerings and create assured quality for our new ones. At Rackspace, you're not just implementing somebody else's spec. Software Engineers in Test are software developers with a passion for quality. SETs will work with a product team, release management, product management, support staff, and customers to ensure the quality and performance of our Web-based products.
SETs will work on scheduling resources, black box and white box testing, writing bug reports, writing test plans, reviewing specifications, managing mobile device inventory, developing automation and testing strategies, procedures, and frameworks, and facilitating team growth and effectiveness. |
Duties: |
Job Requirements:
* Minimum of 4 years of QA experience in a software company.
* Advanced experience with Web 2.0 technologies (Javascript, AJAX, CSS, SOAP, HTML)
* Advanced programming skills in one or more of WATiR, Cucumber, Selenium, Ruby on Rails
* Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving quality issues
* Ability to develop automated custom QA solutions without relying on commercial software packages
* Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective action for process related concerns
* Strong desire to solve real problems for real users
* Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for quality
The most successful candidate will have the following:
* Experience with Agile engineering practices (test driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, etc.)
* Experience developing and executing manual and automated test suites
* Extensive experience with QA tools such as SilkTest or JUnit
* Experience working in a variety of programming languages and environments
* Familiarity with QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design, and test execution
* Working knowledge of some or all of the following quality assurance methods: unit, integration, regression, user interface automated testingExperience testing web-based, enterprise applications
