Description: | Rackspace is looking for creative problem solvers to assure the quality of our existing software offerings and create assured quality for our new ones. Techs will work with a product team, release management, product management, support staff, software developers, engineers, and customers in the service of quality and performance of our web-based products. Quality assurance is vital to the success of our company.
QA Techs are responsible for designing and implementing testing processes and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) methodologies necessary to deliver scalable, maintainable, and defect-free system(s) in an on-time and cost effective manner. QA Techs perform functional, application, regression, and performance tests, as well as executing manual and automated, pre-determined testing procedures and programs. Techs will work on scheduling resources, black box testing, writing bug reports, writing test plans, reviewing specifications, and facilitating team growth and effectiveness. | Duties: | Job Requirements:
* Minimum of 4-5 years of QA experience in a software company
* Basic familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies (Javascript, AJAX, CSS, SOAP, HTML)
* Advanced experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving quality issues
* Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns
* Strong desire to solve real problems for real users
* Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for quality
* Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills
The most successful candidate will have the following:
* Experience working with Agile processes (Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, etc.)
* Advanced experience developing and executing automated test suites (Watir, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)
* Advanced experience with manual testing techniques and processes, including cross-browser testing
* Advanced experience with QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design, and test execution
* Good knowledge of some or all of the following quality assurance methods: unit, integration, regression, user interface automated testing
* Advanced experience testing web-based, enterprise applications
* The ability to coordinate testing efforts within a development team from the unit level to the system level
