Description:

Optical Cable Corporation is seeking a Quality Final Inspector for the inspection of fiber optic cables.

Duties:

The Quality Final Inspector is a member of the Quality Department and is responsible for optical testing, mechanical inspecting, and verification of the quality requirements in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, customer requirements, military/government and industry standards. The final inspection process requires the completion of inspection documents, monitoring of product traceability, and assurance of the accuracy and integrity of the final product. The successful candidate will utilize OTDR testing equipment to assess cable length, breaks and attenuation. The preferred candidate must have the ability to evaluate data for measurement systems and be able to follow the quality practices to insure product consistency.

Qualifications:

Requirements Include:

Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical and non-technical documents as they relate to the product
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and visual inspection for workmanship
Proficient in the use of measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Must be able to inspect a high quantity of work while maintaining a high level of accuracy (minimal errors) as established by the company
Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solve with minimal direction
Demonstrated high level of attention to details
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good computer skills (Word and Excel, etc.)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must
Ability to regularly lift/move 50.0 lbs.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 standards
Demonstrated knowledge of MIL-Std requirements

Education and Job Experience:

Requires a high school degree or GED (degree preferred but not required)
Minimum 3 years of prior experience in performing Quality Assurance inspections
Demonstrated solid work history
