Description:

Receives telephone inquires and provides information to subscribers, providers, and group administrators regarding their dental benefits. Resolves claim problems, writes up corrections, and watches for claim adjudication of the adjustment. Returns calls to the providers and subscribers. Enters comments after every call, transfers calls to other departments. Explains how reconsiderations can be done. Makes address changes. Performs other duties as required.

Duties:

-Answers telephone calls from subscribers, dental providers and group administrators in a courteous and professional manner.

-Provides information to group administrators on eligibility and benefit coverage.

-Issues ID cards.

-Submits claims to Professional Review when the dental office is requesting reconsideration.

-Provides names of participating dentists and their office locations to subscribers.

-Explains benefits and frequencies for dental services.

-Explains the reason why a claim was denied.

-Researches claim problems and makes necessary corrections.

-Responds to correspondence.

-Returns calls to providers and subscribers.

-Enters comments after each phone call.

-Transfers calls to other departments.

-Explains how reconsiderations can be done.

-Makes address changes.

-Provides information to other departments.

-Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED equivalent.


-A minimum of one year prior customer service experience.

-Demonstrated PC experience, the ability to use a copier and fax machine.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


-The ability to communicate in a pleasant voice.


-Preferred qualifications include prior medical or dental insurance experience and/or experience working in a customer service center.
